I’m a big fan of bald eagles on cloudy days.
Some photos of my time at Tchesinkut Lake over the Christmas weekend. Sunstar and mist on Tchesinkut Lake Swan with the sun reflecting off the ice on the lake Sunset on Tchesinkut Lake The Northern Lights Tchesinkut Lake as viewed from near the 700 Road
This is where the new Canon EF100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS II USM really shines. I paired it with the 1.4x III teleconverter and shot this handheld. I love the image stabilization of this lens. It was shot at f/9 at 560mm for 1/1250 of a second and have even cropped this a bit.
Had a great day relaxing out at Tchesinkut Lake today. There was still ice on the lake this morning but the robins didn’t care. I’m a big fan of the bokeh with the Canon 100-400 IS L II.
I was able to get about 20m away from a reasonably low perched bald eagle. I’ve taken a shot similar to this, but that eagle was in an enclosure. I like that this one was in the wild and that there’s snow on the branch.
