Golden Nechako

Another great stop at the Nechako River this morning. I’ll admit that my ears still hurt a bit. It is stupid cold right now. The temperature was -34℃ when I took this shot. So worth it though. I’ve doubled back to this spot two times now. Each time the light was better than when I first wanted to stop.

Some days I feel like I need to be cities, provinces or even countries away to get good photographs. It’s important to realize that where you are right now is where some folks are aspiring to be. I’m looking forward to a busy travel schedule in September, but hope to remember that I don’t have to travel far for great subjects. This was taken from my deck this evening. So blessed.

I was travelling home from Smithers and came across the perfect storm of white. Snow, frost and fog.

In tribute to D’s series. Kind of fun, and cross processed. This probably would look nice on canvas.
See D’s original.

I noticed the Nechako River looking like this while taking the kids to school. I was very happy to find that it hadn’t changed on my way back.
