Exchamsiks River Provincial Park

I spent the better part of my week on the Skeena and Exchamsiks Rivers. What an absolute privilege. The temperature hovered around 30°C during the day and was perfectly cool for sleeping in the evenings. Although the goal of the trip was to catch Chinook salmon on the Skeena, my photographic highlight ended up being a jet boat trip up the Exchamsiks River. At every turn there was more beauty. Here is a selection of my favourites.

A map of where Exchamsiks River Provincial Park is located. The Exchamsiks runs south to the Skeena, and the Skeena is running east out to the Pacific Ocean.

Thanks to Scott & Steph for making it happen! What a truly amazing place our God has created.

I’m sure you could kayak this river. We did have to run up one section of rapids that the jet boat handled easily. I’m sure you could portage that section if you needed to though. I don’t think you can get access up river any farther though so you’d be paddling upstream to start.
